The sculptural work of Brigitte and Martin Matschinsky-Denninghoff is highly associative. Their preferred material is chrome-nickel steel, their language of form is reminiscent of landscapes, plants or rivers, right up to figures of an archetypal nature. The monograph documents all stages of the sculptural work from the small formats at the beginning of the joint oeuvre to the large sculptures in which the tube motif dominates and becomes a vegetal metaphor. It contains contributions by Georg W. Költzsch, Johannes Langner, Eberhard Roters, a catalogue raisonné by Anette Schwarz that includes 745 works from 1943 to 1992 and one signed and dated original drawing each by the artist and the artist.
