Christopher Lehmpfuhl's painting is very much in the tradition of Impressionism and plein air painting. During his painting trips, he often paints in front of his motif in the open air. Whether in the city or in nature, he always creates his paintings on location, whatever the weather. Lehmpfuhl models with oil paint, which he applies impasto to the canvas with his hands. Light with its changing moods is a frequently recurring theme in his works. His works can be found in renowned large private and public collections, including the German Bundestag Collection, Würth Collection, Schwäbisch Hall, ZKM, Karlsruhe and Kunsthalle Emden.
