ORNATE PORCELAIN AMPHORA VASE WITH GROUND AND GALLANT COUPLE.
KPM. Berlin.
Date: Before 1992.
Technique: Porcelain, blue ground, painted golden and in colours.
Description: Amphora-shaped vase with two handles and a cone finial. The side with blue ground and
elaborate gold decoration of fluting, bead and reel decor as well as acanthus decor. At
the lower end of the vase body a dragon in relief winding around the vase. Above a
medallion with detailed painting of a couple in the park. Opposite floral painting. The
lid with leaf decor.
Measurement: Height 35cm.
Mark: Sceptre mark, painted blue under glaze. Manufacture mark KPM, iron read. Embossed mark 1422/21, 'A.L.I'.
