HORIZONTAL TABLE CLOCK MADE OF BRASS, STEEL AND GLASS.

Hütter, Marthin. Stockholm

Date: Ca. 1700.
Technique: Fire-gilded brass, blued steel, glass, amongst others.
Description: Square case with glazed sides on four feet in the shape of devilish mascarons. Dial with
Roman hours, the alarm dial with Arabic hours. Pierced hands and on the corners of the top
small engraved cherub heads. Hourly and alarm striking, bell at the base, verge movement
with chain & fusee, 2 further barrels for striking and alarm work, 1 engraved and 1 blued
striker, locking plate for striking work, pierced verge cock, silver regulator disc.
Measurement: 7,5x10,5x10,5cm.
Mark: The finely engraved work signed: "Marthen Hüter Stockholm" (apprenticeship in Königsberg, active in Stockholm 1697-1711, Loomes p.405).
