ALLEGORY PORCELAIN OF TASTE FROM THE SERIES "THE FIVE SENSES" ("DIE FÜNF SINNE").

Date: Before 1924.
Maker/Designer: Model J. F. Eberlein.
Technique: Porcelain, painted golden and in colours.
Description: Standing on a rocaille base at a column, the allegory of the sense of taste. In her left
hand an apple, in the right holding a monkey on a leash. The monkey sits on the column and
eats another apple, which it has taken from the bowl in front of it. At the feet of the
goddess a putto as allegorical device, with soup bowl. On the pedestal a piece of ham and
in a rocaille a mouth.
Measurement: Height 28,5cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze.
