NETSUKE OF RYUJIN WITH THE TAMA PEARL.
Origin: Japan.
Date: 18th c.
Technique: Ivory, on the back with amber yellow patina.
Description: Standing on one leg and holding in his two folded hands in front of him the pearl which
commands the tide. He is dressed in a Chinese jacket over a hip scarf. Hair and beard are
crimped. Also in this netsuke the carver has cleverly used the triangular section of the
precious material.
Measurement: H.8.6cm.
Condition A/B.

German private collection, acquired at Galerie Sagemonoya.
