WATER RESERVOIRE (MIZUSASHI).
Origin: Japan.
Dynasty: Edo-Period (1603-1868).
Technique: Leather brown stoneware, covered with a green tea dust like glaze, partly with black glaze running in drops.
Description: Body with drawn-in, straight neck on which pointed dots are sitting. The lip rounded.
Measurement: H.13.8cm, Ø 15cm.
Seal: Underneath residue of red owner seal.
Condition A/B. Supplement: Matching, black lacquered, slightly concave wooden lid. Damaged at the rim.
Provenance:
Collection Dr. Franz Haniel (1883-1965), since then bequest of the family estate.
