Kipling, William. London

Date: Around 1730.
Technique: Walnut burl.
Description: Straight, closed case, the top glazed on three sides with curved pediment and three
crowning spheres. Richly decorated front plate in brass. Ring dial with Roman numerals and
Arabic minuterie. Eight-day movement with hour strike, small second under the XII and date
indication.
Measurement: 236x50x25cm.
Mark: On plate inscr. "Wm. Kipling London" (Broad Street, Ratcliffe Cross, 1705-37).
Condition C.
